Donna D. Pettway is an attorney with a background in History and Political Science from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with honors in 2002. While in law school, she clerked at the United States District Court for the Central District and the District Attorney’s Office at Eastlake Juvenile Court. She also contributed to the community by teaching children in the Street Law Clinic and serving as Co-President of BLSA.

After working at a law firm, she realized the need to provide compassionate and effective legal representation, leading her to establish her own practice in 2012. Her firm now handles cases in Employment Law, Property Law, Civil Litigation, and Dependency Law.

03 / A CLEARER WAY FORWARD

The first step doesn’t
have to feel so hard.

You don’t need to have every answer before you reach out. Begin with a conversation about where you are and what you need.

Find your next step
01

Start with your story.

Call the office with a brief overview, the state involved, and any upcoming dates. Leave sensitive details for an appropriate consultation.

02

Understand your options.

Discuss whether the firm can assist, what information is needed, and the consultation process and fees.

03

Choose your next step.

If representation is agreed upon, the scope of work and fee terms are set out before moving forward together.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Good questions.
Straight answers.

A few things to know before
your first conversation.

Have another question?
Do you handle matters in California and Michigan?

Donna D. Pettway is admitted in both states. Whether the office can take your matter depends on its location, subject, any conflicts, and availability. Call to discuss those details.

How do I arrange a consultation?

Call (310) 990-6998 to discuss scheduling. Ask about available telephone, video, or in-person arrangements and the consultation fee before booking.

What should I prepare before calling?

Have the names of the parties, the state and county involved, a brief timeline, and any court dates or deadlines ready. Keep relevant documents available, but wait for instructions before sending confidential material.

What if I have an upcoming court date or deadline?

Call promptly and mention the date at the start of your conversation. A call or voicemail does not mean the firm has accepted your case or will meet a deadline for you. Do not assume that contacting the office changes any deadline.

Does contacting the office make me a client?

No. Representation begins only after the firm has agreed to take your matter and the terms of engagement have been established. Please do not send sensitive or confidential information before receiving instructions.
